About this exam
Measures the Japanese ability and basic academic skills (science, Japan and the world, mathematics) of foreign students seeking to study at Japanese universities. Run by JASSO, held twice a year (June and November).
Recognition & use The central entrance exam used by most Japanese universities, including national and public ones, when screening international applicants.
